Inspired by elegant simplicity and cinematic compositions Beyond the Horizon explores one of the recurring themes found throughout my figurative work—the quiet moments of reflection that often pass unnoticed.

Standing alone beneath an expansive sky, the figure looks beyond the ornate railing towards an unseen destination, inviting the viewer to imagine what lies ahead. There is no defined narrative, no obvious beginning or ending, only a moment suspended in time.

While Vettriano's influence can be seen in the restrained composition and timeless fashion, I chose to simplify the scene further, allowing light, negative space and posture to become the primary storytellers. The dramatic black dress contrasts against the soft sky, creating both visual elegance and emotional stillness.

For me, the painting represents optimism rather than solitude. It is about looking forward with quiet confidence—embracing the unknown rather than fearing it. Like many of my paintings, it celebrates the beauty found in life's pauses, where reflection becomes every bit as important as action.
