The Blindfold

Inspired by the narrative restraint of Jack Vettriano, The Blindfold explores trust, anticipation and the subtle tension that exists between three seemingly ordinary figures. Illuminated only by candlelight, the sparse interior offers few clues to the relationships between its protagonists, encouraging the viewer to construct their own interpretation.

The composition demonstrates the artist's growing confidence in simplicity. Large areas of darkness and carefully controlled light replace the descriptive detail of earlier landscapes, allowing gesture and atmosphere to become the primary narrative devices. While acknowledging Vettriano's influence, the work reveals an emerging softness in emotional tone, favouring curiosity and intimacy over overt drama.

This product is unframed, however a wide variety of frames are available on request.
