The Last Light
Inspired by the atmospheric compositions of Viktor Yushkevich, this interpretation shifts the emphasis from architecture towards colour and light. A quiet harbour settles beneath a radiant evening sky as warm golds dissolve into cool violets and deep maritime blues. Merchant vessels lie motionless while the final light of day transforms stone, sea and sail into a single harmonious composition.
Rather than depicting a specific historical place, the painting evokes the collective memory of coastal cities that have welcomed travellers for centuries. The result is less an illustration of a harbour than an invitation to imagine the stories that begin—and end—upon its waters.
