Landfall

Landfall imagines the timeless moment when an unfamiliar coastline first emerges from the sea. Inspired by the legends of the Age of Sail, the painting blends history with imagination, portraying a vessel preparing to send its crew ashore beneath the warm glow of an evening sky.

Rather than depicting a specific historical event, the work celebrates the romance and mystery of maritime exploration. The dramatic mountain backdrop, glowing sunset and quiet waters create an atmosphere of anticipation, inviting the viewer to imagine the story that lies just beyond the shoreline. Are the crew explorers, merchants, privateers or pirates? The answer is deliberately left untold.

Painted simply for the enjoyment of storytelling through art, Landfall reflects a fascination with the golden age of sailing ships, distant horizons and the enduring human desire to discover what lies beyond the next headland.

This product is unframed, however a wide variety of frames are available on request. The original is acrylic on canvas.
