Alpine Reflection – After Yushkevich

Inspired by the atmospheric landscapes of Viktor Yushkevich, Alpine Reflection explores the quiet majesty of an imagined mountain lake. Towering snow-covered peaks rise above dark forests whose reflections dissolve into still water, while a solitary eagle traces the vastness of the valley below.

Rather than pursuing photographic realism, the painting seeks to evoke the emotional memory of high mountain landscapes—places where scale diminishes the individual and silence becomes part of the experience. Light is used sparingly, allowing illuminated meadows, distant peaks and mirrored water to emerge gradually from the surrounding cool tones.
